TRACK & FIELD: Lady Indians top C-Z-R, PCHS
Du Quoin High School hosted girls track and field action on Tuesday afternoon and the Lady Indians racked up 86 points to claim first place ahead of second-place Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton (59) and third-place Pinckneyville (30). Du Quoin won eleven of the eighteen events.
Individuals winning for the Lady Indians included Grace Bailey (3200 meters, 15:19.28), Tarynn Mays (100 meters, 12.88; triple jump, 33'7), Andrea Lopez (800 meters, 2:46), Shelby Wheeler (300 hurdles, 54.31), Quinn Kirkpatrick (1600 meters, 6:16; pole vault, 5'6), Brittany Clark (discus, 89'4) and Jaylyn Williams (shot put, 33'7).
Du Quoin also won relays in the 3200 meters (Lopez, Kate Smith, Kirkpatrick, Olivia Cravens, 11:15) and 1600 meters (Jennifer Lambert, Madeleine Cravens, Lopez, Smith, 5:16).
For the Lady Panthers Sophie Keith won the 400 meters (1:03.86) and Lexi Conner won the high jump (5'5). PCHS relay teams won in the 400 meters and 800 meters.
