The Rev. S. Franklin Rowlen

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Rev. S. Franklin Rowlen went home to be with Jesus his savior at 5:33 a.m. Wednesday March 17, 2010.

He will be met by his beloved daughter, Pamela Rowlen Parr and his father Archie and mother Jessie Rowlen.

Frank was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Catlin. He has one sister, Helen Lucille Heath, who lives in Dallas, Texas. On Oct. 12, 1948, he married Lucille Scarlett and together they had six children, Danny Rowlen and his wife Linda from Houston, Texas, Stanley Rowlen and his wife Regina Rowlen of Harrisburg, Curtis Rowlen and his wife Kathy of Harrisburg, Linda Gordon and her husband Scott of Fort Mill, S.C. and Julie Sturgill and her husband Mike of Carterville; 12 grandchildren, Jason Rowlen, Aimee Rowlen, Eric Rowlen, Joey Parr, Nathan Parr, Amanda and Ryan Griffin, Rachel Gordon, Beverly Rowlen, Jessica Sturgill, Maddie Sturgill, Seth Sturgill, and the soon to be Jason Moss; and five great-grandchildren, Maddison Rowlen, Annastasia Rowlen, Nathan Parr, Christopher Parr, Caty Parr and Michael Parr.

The Rev. Frank served in the U. S. Navy and has served as pastor of churches in Illinois, Arkansas and Louisiana. His calling from God as a church and parsonage builder spanned over 40 years. His time of ministry lives on. He was a great man of God and the love of his life here on Earth was his wife, children and grandchildren; they brought great joy to him. We all plan to see him again in heaven.

Funeral services for Rev. S. Franklin Rowlen will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010. The Rev. Paul Lee and Dr. Jim Spruce will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to TIP Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
