Prep Baseball: Bulldogs split games at O'Fallon
The Harrisburg baseball team knocked off Anna-Jonesboro 7-4 in eight innings, before falling to O'Fallon 12-0 in five innings.
Matthew Phipps had four hits in the win against A-J, including a two-out double in the eighth inning. That was followed by a Noah Vallette double that drove in Phipps and concluded when Austin Hefner singled and was driven in by Aaron Johnson.
Sykes Thompson pitched the first four innings and was followed by Cooper Patterson, who tossed two shut out innings.
Bryce Emery got the win in relief.
Harrisburg head coach Jay Thompson complimented his staff's pitching, adding that if the early season is any indication of what's to come, things should shape up nicely for the Bulldogs.
"Cooper Patterson has really pitched as well as you can imagine. He's got five scoreless innings under his belt and I just don't know what else he could do right now. Bryce looked really good in relief and has just been impressive. If he and we continue at that pace, we're going to be okay."
