Edith Lucas
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edith Lucas, 82, of Marion, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born on June 29, 1927 in Rosiclare, the daughter of the late John and Gracie (Moore) Turner. She married Orval Victor Lucas on May 15, 1946, and together they spent 41 happy years. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1987.
Edith was employed as a seamstress at the Harrisburg Manufacturing Company until her retirement in 1977. Edith enjoyed spending her days with her neighbor and friend Margo Pankey, with whom she shared daily events and went fishing. She moved to Marion in 2000 to live with her daughter as her health started to deteriorate.
She is survived by three children, daughter, Diane Bradshaw of Marion; son, Danny Lucas of Peyton, Colo., son, Rick Lucas and wife Lori of Knob Noster, Mo.; four grandchildren, Tammy Loyd and husband Tracy of Marion, Bert Lucas and wife Leah of Jasper, Ga., Melissa Lucas and David Lucas of Knob Noster, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Jacob McCree and Ashley Loyd of Marion, Lee Ann Lucas of Jasper, Ga. and Victoria Harmon of Knob Noster, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Christianson of Omaha, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orval; four sisters, Mabel Santy, Dorothy Berkel, Jean Rinsinger and Hussie Turner; and two brothers, Ezra Turner and Silas Turner.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
