OBITUARY: William Charles “Bill” Mills

William Charles "Bill" Mills, 72, of 935 Turner Road, Creal Springs, died 4:38 a.m. Saturday April 6, 2013, at Liberty Village Rehab Center in Marion.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1940, in Chicago to the late William and Mabel (Christenson) Mills.

Bill or "Wild Bill" as he was often called drove a truck for Louis Zahn Drug Co. for many years. He then became a handicap bus driver for Laidlaw until he retired. He then moved to Creal Springs where his wife Mildred Conley Mills was from. They married on March 26, 1960, and just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They previously lived in West Chicago where they raised their three daughters.

William is survived by his wife, Mildred Conley Mills; daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Johnson of Sugar Grove, Debbie (Juergen) Liepelt of Bartley and Theresa Mills of Elburn; nine grandchildren, Bill, Kim, Kelly, Amy, Kaitlyn, Kourtney, Ryan, Kyle and Kayla; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jacob, Sofia and Blake all who he loved and adored. He was also a loving brother in law as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn Philhour and Irene Mills.
