OBITUARY: Juanita M. Short

Juanita M. Short, 92, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Marion Nursing and Rehab.

She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Johnston City to Andrew and Grace Cargal Brennan. She married Joseph C. Short on April 26, 1944, in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph (Sharon) of Savannah, Ga., Gordon (Terry) of Washington and Michael (Christine) of East Peoria; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly (Gary) Trammel of Harrisburg; a niece; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenley; two infant twin daughters, Sammy and Sandra; two brothers, Wayne and Harold Brennan; one sister, Edna Cobb; one niece, Cathy Nelson; and a nephew, Lee Carroll Brennan.

Retiring in 1986, Juanita enjoyed a long career working in the admitting department at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

She was a generous, kind-hearted person who always did for others.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Sister Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
