OBITUARY: Murvin L. Foster

Murvin L. Foster, age 76, passed away quietly in her sleep on May 20, 2013, at Hardin County Hospital in Rosiclare.

Murvin Lavern Potts was born Feb. 25, 1937, in the small community of Sodum near Herod to the late Elmer and Beulah (Carter) Potts. With a generous heart and snappy humor, she was beloved by all who knew her. She was a born again Christian, and member of Honeycomb Church of God, where she enjoyed fellowship dinners, praise and worship till her health kept her away. Our beloved mother, Murvin, had a one of a kind name because she was a one of a kind woman.

She put up the good fight and now is at rest.

She is survived by three children, Jim "Chief" Marler, of Herod, Debra E. (Bob) Wagner of Golconda, Tony (Ruth) Marler of Eldorado; brother, James (Norma) Potts of Herod; two sisters, Nola Goolsby of Uniontown, Ky., Wanda (Les) Thompson, Francisco, Ind.; grandchildren, Jimmy Marler, Paul Marler, Darci McBrian; great grandchildren, Caleb McBrian, Makayla Marler, Michael McBrian, Brook Marler, Tylor Marler, Brayden Marler, Austin Marler, Georganna Marler-Finley and Konner Marler; special sister-in-law, Bonita Potts; brother-in-law, Robert 'Digger' Foster; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Murvin was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred E. Marler; second husband, Lowell 'Mack" Foster; daughters, Carolyn Marler, Lavonna Marler; grandchildren, Dena Marler-Finley, Charles Jr. and Rhonda Gayle Goolsby; brothers, Earl, Raymond, Junior and Charley Potts; sister, Hazel Brown.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 23, 2013, at Honeycomb Church of God, Herod. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery, Rock Creek Community, Hardin County. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday May 22, 2013, at Honeycomb Church of God. Aly Funeral Home in Golconda is in charge of arrangements.
