OBITUARY: Linda W. Dodd
Linda W. Dodd, 76, lived at 265 Woodlake Road, Eldorado. She passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013, of cardiac problems at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
She was born on May 18, 1937, in Eldorado to Edward and Madelyn (Davenport) White.
She is survived by her husband, John V Dodd; her brothers, John (Karen) White and Wardie (Shelly) White; her children Nancy Dodd, James (Barbara) Dodd, John (Bonnie) Wayman-Dodd and her son in law, Bob (Melanie) Stolp; her grandchildren, Tara Lee, Lindsey (Marcus) Doolittle, Brian (Britney) Lilly, Kaitlyn Wayman-Dodd, Nathan Wayman-Dodd, Alexandra (Jordan) Anderson, Samantha Dodd, Mackenzie Dodd, Wendy Stolp, Joseph Stolp and Briana Lee; her great-grandchildren, Alainah (Artie Whaley) Hartman, Jacob Lee, Brent Lee, Sunny Lilly, Soren Lilly, Sierra Lilly, Laci Doolittle; her great-great-grandson, Hunter Whaley; her nephews, Jeff White, Dylan White and Michael Hackett; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary (Cassie) Dodd and Vickie (Eric) Dodd; numerous cousins, relatives and friends; and last, but not least, her second best friend in the whole world, her little dog Bridget Bardot.
Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Stolp.
Linda attended Eldorado High School. She was very intelligent and loved to talk about politics, sports, antiques, philosophy and many other subjects. She was an avid reader and had a wide range of interests. She was proud of the fact that she developed two successful businesses; a dog grooming operation in Chicago and a large antique mall in Minnesota. Her passions in life were grandchildren, antiques, travel, needlepoint, friends and the Minnesota Vikings.
She filled her house with all the treasures she found rummaging through antique stores and garage sales. She spent many a hot summer day at farm auctions. She enjoyed going to church at The First Christian Church in Eldorado and said many times she wished that church started at noon; she was in a lot of pain early in the day and found it difficult to function. She will be missed by all; as the kids used to say when she asked them how much they loved her. They answered "To the moon and back." Linda we all love you this much, "To the moon and back."
A memorial service will be held at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 a.m. Friday. A bereavement luncheon will be held shortly after the service at The First Christian Church of Eldorado.
