OBITUARY: Buddy Sork

Buddy Sork, 74, resident of Eldorado, passed away Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013, at Ferrell Hospital.

Buddy was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Ridgway, to the late Roy and Bernice (Buchanan) Sork. He married the former Essie Biggerstaff who preceded him in death. Buddy served in the US Army. He was a minister and a member of the Eddyville Baptist Church. Prior to retirement he was a loan officer at First State Bank.

Buddy is survived by two sons, Randall (Barbara) Sork of Eldorado, Roy (Nora) Allen Sork of Norris City; a brother, Lyndal (Ellen) Sork, of Ridgway; a sister-in-law, Norma Sork of Ridgway; grandchildren, Kristin (Zachary) Parks of Eldorado, Roy Issac Sork of Texas, Rebecca Sork of Shawneetown; great-grandchildren, Addison Parks, Landon Sork, Megan Sork, Zia Sork; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Sork; and a sister, Mary Rose Hendrix.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Jordan Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eddyville Baptist Church or the Baptist Children's Home and will be accepted at the funeral home.
