OBITUARY: Billy Joe McCoy

Billy Joe McCoy, 87, of 701 Mundy St., Eldorado, died Aug. 7, 2013, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born in Stonefort, on July 5, 1926, to the late Ralph and Emma (Turner) McCoy. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and worked as a Boilermaker and was a member of the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church and he was a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post 169. He was a guitarist and loved music.

On Aug. 8, 1949, he married the former Mary Jane (Tyler) and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010.

Surviving are his two sons: Joe (Norma) McCoy of Harrisburg and Keith Wayne McCoy of Eldorado; three daughters: Rebecca McCoy of Eldorado, Mary (John) Bourland of Equality and Laura (Danny) Bradley of Eldorado; six grandchildren: Chad (Jerilynn) McCoy, Jason (Rachel) McCoy, Christine (Josh) Golish, Courtney (Mike) Smothers, Emma Bradley and Everett Bradley; and eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Coner, Ethan, Trent, Samantha, Kayden, Caleb and Drew. He is also survived by his brother Robert "Bugs" (Iona) McCoy of Eldorado.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne McCoy and Warren McCoy and two sisters Helen Lombardo and Beverly Davis.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church. Kathy Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home and from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Ridge Presbyterian Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
