OBITUARY: Larry Wayne Schwartz

Larry Wayne Schwartz, 59, of Mt. Carmel, formerly of Harrisburg went home to be with the Lord at 3:51 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, as a result of a mining accident.

Larry was born on Sept. 17, 1954, in Harrisburg to the late Charles "Bud" and Frances (Wilson) Schwartz. On March 7, 1975, he married Linda Holmes and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1997. He then married Lori Kienath on Dec. 18, 1999, and she survives. He was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1972. He was a member of The Tabernacle Church of Princeton, Ind., and truly loved his church family.

Larry was a loving, devoted, Christian, husband, father, son, brother and papa. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. His living testimony will forever be remembered and cherished. Larry impacted so many lives through children's ministry, adult friendships, singing, and so much more. The Lord will say "Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter in."

Surviving family members include daughters: Rhonda (Shannon) Goolsby of Harrisburg and Krystle Brantley of Eldorado; son: Tyler Brantley of Harrisburg; grandchildren: Haley and Hannah Goolsby, Kayden Metcalf, Brynna and Brantley Grisham, and Kayleigh Brantley; sisters: Cindy (Joe) Poirot, Teri (Tony) Reynolds, Tina (Joey) Younger of Harrisburg, Jan (Gary) Patrick of Galatia and Tami (Tim) Swan of Carrier Mills; mother-in-law: Patricia Kienath; brother-in-law: Joseph S. Kienath of Colorado; sister-in-law: Terry Kienath of Harrisburg; sister-in-law: Carolyn (Randall) Henson of Carrier Mills; brother-in-law: Don Absher of Carrier Mills; several aunts; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, grandparents, sister-in-law and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oc. 16, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Randall Duncan will officiate with special testimony given by Shannon Goolsby. Burial will follow in Bankston Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to The Tabernacle Christian School or the Bankston Fork Baptist Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
