OBITUARY: Gerald William Hooper

Gerald William Hooper, 95, of Eldorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born in Wayne County Jan. 24, 1918, to the late Samuel and Bertha (Hallam) Hooper. He was a union carpenter by trade. He was a great father and a good Christian man who is now home with the lord.

He is survived by his children: Ronald L (Donna M.) Hooper of Eldorado, Evadence Maricle of Fairfield and Gerry Givens of Eldorado; four grandchildren: Clinton Lee, Gregory Willis, Kimberly Ann Deal and Timothy Allen Givens; eight great-grandchildren: Faith M. Hooper, Timothy Lee Givens, Phillip M. Givens, Linley Hopson, Ashlea and Matthew Deal, Faith and Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John.

Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home, Lyndal Sork officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the funeral home.

For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
