OBITUARY: Dennis R. Driskell

Dennis R. Driskell, 91 of Eldorado, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at his residence with his family at his bedside.

He was born in Broughton on May 4, 1922, to the late Robert and Esther (Gholson) Driskell.

He was a past member of the Eldorado Lion's Club and The Eldorado Men's Club. He was an army veteran of WWII, a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post No. 169 and the Eldorado VFW Post No. 3479. He owned and operated Driskell Insurance Company for many years. On Dec. 20, 1948, he married the former Sue Ewan and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2001.

He is survived by his son Gary (Mary Ann) Driskell of Decatur; two daughters, Carol (Ken) Leszczynski of Woodridge and Connie Driskell of Naperville; six grandchildren, Michael Driskell, Erin Ireland, Sara Leszczynski, Kevin Leszczynski, Matt Drone and Kelly Drone; and three great-grandchildren, Ziak Ireland, Meara Ireland and Anya Ireland.

Graveside memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado with military rites.

He will be greatly missed by his family.
