OBITUARY: Freda M. Rector

Freda M. Rector, age 94 of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:01 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home in Carrier Mills.

Freda was born on May 24, 1919, in Pope County, to the late Charles E. and Amelia (Fulgham) Rector. Freda was a seamstress and worked at the Cap Factory in Harrisburg. Freda was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Freda is survived by a niece, Wanda Oglesby and husband Bob of Galatia; great-nephews, Kyle Oglesby and wife Dana, Keith Oglesby and wife Valera, and Kevin Oglesby and wife Katie; and a sister-in-law, Eva Nell Rector of Harrisburg.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sherman Rector; sister, Juanita and husband Olen Healy; a brother in infancy; and nephew, James Healy.

Funeral services for Freda M. Rector were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Leroy Hicks officiated and burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado. Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
