OBITUARY: The Rev. Jonah Warren Walker

The Rev. Jonah Warren Walker, 93 of Milford, Ohio, formerly of Harrisburg, passed early Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the West Chester Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1921, in Bernie, Mo., the son of Thomas and Mallie Reynolds Walker.

He was a member of the Illinois National Guard, Co "L", 130th Infantry, from 1947 until 1949 and he studied to become an ordained minister with the Ohio General Baptist Association and the Southern Illinois Christian Conference. His wife, Verla Aline Craig Walker, preceded him in death in June of 2006.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Waddell; son and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Sue Walker, Joyce Walker; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen Vaughn.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Nick; and a grandson, Derek.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St., Milford, Ohio, 45150 with visitation from 12:30 until the time of funeral service. Pastor Harry Walker and Pastor Marvin Knobloch will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Gardens.
