OBITUARY: David L. "Red Man" Davis

David L. "Red Man" Davis, 72 of Eldorado, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, in Harrisburg.

He was born in Eldorado on July 16, 1942, to the late Herbert Leslie and Hilda Pauline (Jones) Davis.

He worked as an auxiliary police officer for 14 years for Eldorado Police Department and also dispatched for them. He worked 14 years at Babcock and Wilson and he worked as a security officer for Harrah's Casino and area coal mines. He also served eight years as East Eldorado Township Trustee and he was a member of Star General Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Rita Parker of Equality and Leslie Ego of Eldorado; two grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Paxton Ego. He is also survived by three sisters: Pat (Melvin) Holdren of Dale, Carol (Jim) Ellis of Marion and Mary Jane (Dee) Pelhank of Harrisburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Davis in 1978.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
