OBITUARY: Catherine Nell "Minsy" Gott

Catherine Nell "Minsy" Gott, 70 of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Catherine was born on June 15, 1943, in Harrisburg to the late Glen and Lois (Pickering) Chrisman. On April 28, 1962, she married Thomas Gott and he survives. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church. Katherine was a charter member of the Red Hats for God where she was Vice Queen Mother.

Catherine is survived by her husband: Thomas Gott of Harrisburg; three sons: Keith (Bonnie) Gott of Harrisburg, Nikki (April) Gott of Raleigh, and Tommy Lee (Rachel) Gott of Newburgh, Ind.; grandchildren: Melissa (Don) Williams of Equality, Jerod Keith (Julie) Gott of Eldorado, Eric Justin Gott of Mahway, N.J., Joshua Tyler Gott of Raleigh, Nikolas Jordan Gott of Raleigh, Johnathon Nigel Gott of Raleigh, Mercie Paige Gott of Raleigh and Kayleigh Marie Gott of Newburgh, Ind.; sister: Opal Simpson of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren: Tisha Ann Williams, Ashley Nichole Williams, Jonathon Williams and Jonson Keith Gott; several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruth Faye Brantley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiated. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
