Akaya Marie Cain

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Akaya Marie Cain, 17 days old passed away at 7:04 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Akaya was born Oct. 12, 2008, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Ashley Owens and Timmy Cain.

She was a gift from God that was with us for only a short time but will be loved and missed greatly.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Sandra and Jason Morgan of Marion; maternal grandfather, Billy Owens of Johnston City; paternal grandfather, David Cain of Carrier Mills; paternal grandmother, Shannon Sullivan of Creal Springs; maternal great-grandparents, David and Pamela Ellis of Pittsburg; aunts and uncles, Jerry Kee, Megan Morgan, Zachary Owens, Becky Hays and Desirae Smith.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Bob Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
