Prep Golf: Patriots tops 'Dogs

Harrisburg High School senior Ben Fowler shot a 36 for the second consecutive day, but as good as that was, Massac County was better.

The Patriots - led by Tyler Owens' 33 - fired a team total of 146, knocking off Harrisburg, who shot a 154 Tuesday at Shawnee Hills Country Club.

Brock Burnham tacked on a 36 for Massac County, while Dakota Ball finished with a 37. Brock Williams rounded out the top four with a 40 for the Patriots. Blake Goins shot a 43 and Kyle Adkins added a 45.

On Monday, Patrick Bittle shared a second place finish with Fowler at Mt. Carmel with a 36. On Tuesday, Bittle fired a front-nine 39, as did Bryce Beal. Garrett Jenkins completed the top four scores for Harrisburg with a 40.

Camden Schiff finished with a 42 and Jacob Mills tacked on a 43.

Harrisburg returns to action Thursday at Carmi-White County and will play in an 18-hole tournament Saturday at Union County Country Club in Anna.
