OBITUARY: Chieko Beal

Chieko Beal, 86 of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Wabash Valley Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

She was born in Nagasaki, Japan on Aug. 15, 1926, to the late Tokigero and Toya Shinonaga. On July 10, 1958, she married Harvey C. Beal and he preceded her in death in October of 1999.

Surviving family members include her son, Hobert B. "Hoby" Beal of Pinckneyville; granddaughter: Amberle Allisha Joy Beal of Harrisburg; grandson: John Paul Allen III of Harrisburg; great-grandson: John Paul Allen IV of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by parents and husband.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m, Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. There will be no visitation. Reed Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
