Obituary: Carney Rash Jr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carney Rash Jr., 81, of Old Broughton Road in Eldorado died Sunday June 3, 2012 in Deaconess Hospital at Evansville, Ind., after battling pneumonia. Junior was stricken with lung cancer almost 10 years ago which contributed to his death. To all who knew him, Junior was a "great, good man." He loved his family and retained his sense of humor right up until the very end. Junior worked for over 43 years as a master plumber. He was known by his children and grandchildren as the dad and grandfather who could build or fix anything.
Junior also enjoyed playing pool and played on the Busch Pool League for over 15 years. Junior played with his sons, Derak and Daryl, and his granddaughter, Rita. In 2002, Junior won a trip to Las Vegas after winning a regional pool tournament.
He was born in Gallatin County on Aug. 16, 1930, to the late Carney Sr. and Christina (Logston) Frailey. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters 551 out of West Frankfort.
On Jan. 23, 1949, in Morganfield, Ky., he married the former Ruby Douthitt and she survives in Eldorado. Also surviving are two sons, Daryl D. Rash of Eldorado and Derek (Donna) Rash of Eldorado; two daughters, Regina (Leon) Cowsert of Harrisburg and Karen (Charles) Crank of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren, Rita (Tom) Griffith of Harrisburg, Jeffrey L Cowsert of Indianapolis, Ind., Daryl Robert "Robbie" (Mandy) Rash of Eldorado, Dalyn Rash of Rosiclare, Shawn M.C. Rash of Marion, Kenneth Cody Rash of Eldorado, C. Shawn (Jennifer) Crank of Harrisburg, Michael R. (Laurel) Crank of Harisburg, Doug (Brandi) Rash of Eldorado, Nick (Ashley McRoy) Rash of Eldorado and Megan (Jason Robershaw) Rash; 18 great-grandchildren, Dustin W. Coker, Casey D. Coker and Keelan W. Coker, all of Harrisburg, Chelsea Boggess, Shane Rash, Brooklynn Wright, Trent Rash, Mikayla Rash, Landon Rash all of Eldroado, Maddex C. Rash, Ethan L Omohundro and Avery N. Rash, Issac C. Crank, Myles E. Crank, Ansley N. Crank all of Harrisburg and Garrett M. Crank, Mitchell L. Crank and Dylan M. Crank and one great great grandchild Jeron. Also surviving are three sisters, Eulene (Earl) Heath, Dorothy (William) Drone both of Ridgway and Linda (George) O'Neil of Ivins, Utah.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Wilburn Rash of Griffith, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Dennis Robison officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the funeral home.
