OBITUARY: Georgia V. Mitchell

Georgia V. Mitchell, age 82, of Harrisburg, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.

She was born in Stonefort on June 11, 1931, daughter of the late George and Nola (Sittig) Deaton.

Georgia is survived by her loving granddaughter, Nikki (Kevin) Hawkins of Harrisburg; four great-grandchildren, Clay (Makenzie) Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Brennen Hawkins and Salena Russell; two great-great-grandchildren, Abby and Zander Hawkins; and her sister, Juanita St. John of Manteno.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a daughter, Rhonda Russell; grandson, Rodney Russell; great-grandson, Braydn Hawkins; brothers, Melvin Deaton, Carl "Tubby" Deaton; and a sister, Naomi Jenkins.

At her request, cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will precede burial of cremains at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Bolton-Trammell Cemetery in Stonefort. The Rev. David Pinkerton will officiate. There will be no visitation and those planning to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to service time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
