OBITUARY: Fonda Sue Parks Certain

Fonda Sue Parks Certain, 56, resident of Harrisburg passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Herrin Hospital after her long battle with cancer.

Fonda was born March 17, 1957, in Harrisburg to the late Robert Eugene Parks and Patsy Lou (Barger) Parks of Florida. Fonda served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer and was a certified Sharpshooter, 2nd class and a marksman. Fonda worked several jobs prior to falling ill. She was a member of the Harvest Deliverance Center in Harrisburg. She enjoyed crafts and mostly spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother Patsy, she is survived two sons, Robert (Roxanne) Essex of Eldorado and Robbie Snyder of Eldorado; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Parks of Ky., Steven (Mary) Chambers of Harrisburg; two sisters, Sharon (Jimmy) Cash of Florida, Ida (Pony Williams) Chambers of Eldorado; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Aaron "Boots" Barger, Novella Barger, Earl Parks, Helen Parks; an aunt, Barbara Barger; and a granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Essex. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with the Rev. Ownly Williams officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Thursday to service time.
