INDIANS, LADY PANTHERS WIN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

With wins on Saturday, the Du Quoin Indians baseball team and Pinckneyville Lady Panthers softball team are both Regional champions - DHS defeated Benton 5-1, PCHS knocked off Waltonville-Sesser-Valier 3-1.

The Indians got a stellar performance on the mound from senior Levi Brening. The right-hander allowed one run on four hits, two walks and a hit batter. Du Quoin finished off the win with a 6-4-3 double play turn in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Lady Panthers also had solid pitching to thank for their victory. Junior Brooklyn Morrow allowed four hits and two walks in the circle, and senior Maddie Jones delivered the big hit - a two-run double in the third inning.
