OBITUARY: Wendell V. Lambert

Wendell V. Lambert, 73 of Marion, passed away 10:42 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Rudement, the son of Raymond and Reba Lambert. He married the former Anita Puff on Oct. 3, 1970, in Chicago and she survives. Wendell was a former Chicago Police officer and retired as a guard at the Marion Federal Prison. He was a member of the Spillertown Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran.

Surviving Wendell is his wife, Anita, and son, Wayne, both of Marion along with a host of friends, neighbors and church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Steve Shea officiating and burial in Springvalley Cemetery south of Harrisburg. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
