OBITUARY: Jacquelin I. “Jackie” Somers

Jacquelin I. "Jackie" Somers, 85 of Eldorado, passed away 7:23 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

She was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Junction, the daughter of Jack Jr. and Virginia (Ruddick) Sisk. Jackie married Jack Somers on Aug. 6, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1978. Jackie worked at Burnett's Bank in Eldorado for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado and the Red Hats for God.

She is survived by four daughters, Vicki Lynn Reeves of Alton, Cindy Ann and Bob Parziale of Sidney, Ohio, Stephanie Kay Kitts of Alton, Jill Sue and Mike Finley of Troy; one sister, Freda and Jim Munds of Broughton; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Ted Sisk.

Memorial service for Jackie will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado with Pastor Randy Plunkett officiating. There will be a private burial at the Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Eldorado.
