GOLF: Sarah Breslin, Lady Panthers win tri-match

Led by medalist Sarah Breslin's nine-hole total of 39, the Pinckneyville High School girls golf team was victorious in Wednesday's tri-match at Red Hawk Golf Course, finishing comfortably ahead of Murphysboro and Du Quoin with their four-person score of 168.

The Lady Red Devils took second at 219, while the Lady Indians shot a combined total of 250 to place third.

Sarah Breslin's sister, Megan, and fellow Lady Panther Trista Ogilvie both shot 42 to tie for second place individually at the match. Ellie Carlson's 45 completed Pinckneyville's score. Erica Crews (49), Gracie McDaniel (50) and Taylor Wildermuth (55) also played for PCHS on Wednesday.

Gabrielle Alvarado shot a 55 to pace Du Quoin, one stroke better than Camryn Little's 56. Katlyn Swallers (68), Maddison Dorsey (71), Carlie Daffron (75) and Kayla Deen (75) also participated the the Lady Indians.

Pinckneyville (19-4) hosts the Lady Panther Invitational this Friday at Red Hawk. Du Quoin's girls next compete at Tuesday's four-way match with the Lady Panthers, Steeleville and Waltonville, also at Red Hawk.
