Obituary: James E. 'Jim Bob' Barnett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James E. "Jim Bob" Barnett, 63, of Omaha, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado.

Jim was born on Sept. 22, 1948, in Virginia to John W. and Louise (Grindstaff) Barnett. Jim was retired from the Scot Lad and Roundy's Company after 31 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 347. Jim Bob never met a stranger, always had smile and kind word for you. He loved the outdoors but mostly being around his friends and family. He was a good man and will be missed.

He is survived by his son, Johnny Barnett of McLeansboro; his mother, Louise Barnett of McLeansboro; a brother, Randy (Connie) Barnett of McLeansboro; a sister, Margaret (Charlie) Lane of Geff; his companion, Linda Isom of Omaha; two grandchildren, Mason and Morgan a great-granddaughter; seven stepchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; and two great-great-stepgrandchildren; along with nieces Miranda Cross and Mindy Frailey.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Raymond Barnett.

Visitation for Jim Bob, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Per Jim Bob's wishes, cremation will follow and the ashes will be interred later privately.
