Carolyn K. Joyce

Carolyn K. Joyce, 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at Green Tree Assisted Living in Mount Vernon.

Carolyn was a homemaker and had worked at the Ben Franklin Store in Du Quoin. She was a 1957 graduate of the Du Quoin High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Nov. 3, 1939 at Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of Curtis Tom and Dorothy H. (Wright) McCormick.

Carolyn married Jerry W. Joyce on June 2, 1958 at Du Quoin, Ill. and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. He passed away Jan. 20, 2009.

She is survived by two daughters- Tammy Feezer and husband Randy of Mount Vernon and Sandi Reidelberger and husband Roger of Buford, Ga., special friend- Carl 'Buddy' Eisenhauer of Du Quoin, grandchildren- Jared Kremer of Du Quoin, Matthew Kremer and wife Liz of Du Quoin, Chelsea Kremer of Atlanta, Ga., Ashton Reidelberger of Bufor, Ga. and Brittli Reidelberger of Buford, Ga., step grandchildren- Shawn Feezer and wife Carrie of Sacramento, Calif., Dawn Feezer of Aurora, Ill., Megan Feezer of Aurora, Ill. and Michael Feezer of Mount Vernon, Ill., great grandchildren- Chase Kremer, Gage Kremer and Carrigan Kremer, step great grandchildren- Aubrey Feezer and Elliott Feezer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Charles Smith officiating.

Friends called from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the SSM Home Care/Hospice of Illinois at St. Mary's Good Samaritan and will be accepted at the funeral home.
