OBITUARY: James E. Winters

James E. Winters, 82, of Eldorado, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

He was born in Junction on Aug. 29, 1920, to the late Ernest and Alice Winters. He worked as a truck mechanic for Smith Transit where he retired. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Raleigh.

On Sept. 7, 1985, he married the former Joyce (Markwell) and she survives in Eldorado. Also surviving is a son, Douglas (Peggy) Winters of Lexington Park, Md.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Winters; and three sisters, Erlene Oldham, Evelyn Knight and Irene Moore.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday March 29, 2013, at the Grace Baptist Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Charles and Mark Hiltibidal will officiate. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.
