Obituary: Clara Mae Morris

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Clara Mae Morris, 75, of Carrier Mills, formerly of Shawneetown, passed away at 6:53 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born on March 18, 1936, in Shawneetown, the daughter of Bishop and Edith Hildred (Cox) Fisher. Clara married Charles Edward Morris on Oct. 31, 1970.

She was a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Harrisburg.

Clara is survived by her husband, Charles Morris of Carrier Mills; three daughters, Phyllis and David Wood of Shawneetown, Barbara (Hull) and Dewayne Stokes of Harrisburg and Teresa (Davis) and Carl Pickering of Harrisburg; one son, Keith and Carolyn (Dubbs) Davis of Pacific, Mo.; one sister, Wanda and Bernie Emery of Equality; eight grandchildren, Michelle Hall, Tyrone and Jessica Wood, Cristina Harmon, David Seth and Jennifer Wood, Lacie and J.J. McDonald, Byron Keith Davis Jr., Chelsea Davis and Shay Rachel Claire Wood; four great-grandchildren, Lillie McDonald, Savannah Wood, Caleb Hull and Justin Basham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Chloetine Price and Joe Ann Belford; grandson, Aaron Hull Jr.; and two stepgrandchildren, Carrie Pickering and Aaron Pickering.

Visitation for Clara was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011, with the Rev. Kenneth Blumenstock officiating. Burial will be at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
