Robbery spree suspect arrested in Gloucester
A Charlestown man is in custody in connection with four armed robberies in Beverly during December.
Police on Thursday arrested Federico Arroyo, 25, in Gloucester on three unrelated arrest warrants from Boston. He's being held there without bail as Beverly police detectives draw up an arrest warrant for him for his alleged knife holdup of the One Stop Market on Cabot Street on Dec. 29 at 1:54 a.m.
Arroyo was identified after a photo from a store surveillance camera appeared in local media.
Police said Arroyo would also be charged with one count of armed robbery in connection each with a Dec. 15 robbery at the Lakeview Motor Lodge at 7:20 p.m., a Christmas Day robbery at the Tedeschi Food Shop at 12:32 p.m. and a Dec. 28 robbery at the Shell station on Brimbal Avenue at 5:57 p.m.
Beverly Police expect to arrest Arroyo for all four robberies sometime on Friday, said Officer John McCarthy, a Beverly police spokesman. Arroyo will remain in custody at Gloucester police until then, he said.
"He's not going to get bailed," McCarthy said.
Police would not reveal how much cash was taken.
