OBITUARY: Rosalie A. Rodgers

Rosalie A. Rodgers, 82 of Omaha, passed away at 11:32 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1931, near Omaha, the daughter of Freeman David and Gladys Matilda (Akers) Allen.

Rosalie was a homemaker and a former secretary at Logsdon Farms. She was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church.

Rosalie is survived by three daughters, Nancy and husband Stanley Hill of Norris City, Paula and husband David Healy of Omaha and Tracy and husband Tim Howard of Junction; one son, Bruce and wife Tricia Rodgers of Murphysboro; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruby Faye Allen and Mary Ruth Noon; and two brothers, Ralph Wayne and George Freeman Allen.

Visitation for Rosalie will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, with the Rev. Chad Everett officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Palestine Two Cemetery near Omaha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ridgway Golden Circle.
