Faye Tison Lacy, 72, Altadene, CA
Faye Tison Lacy, Originally fro the Rhine community near Raleigh, Passes peacefully in her sleep at her home in Altadene, CA on Oct. 22. She was born February 18, 1943 to parents Durward and Muriel Tison.
Faye was predeceased by two brothers, J.D. and Max, and sister, Frances Tison Douglass, one niece and Richard Phillips, a special person in her life. Four nephews survive. Also surviving is her dear friend and ex-husband, Norris Lacy of State College, PA.
Faye was a graduate of Eldorado Township High School, Class of 1961. Though she began as a Music major (piano) at Murray State University, Faye earned a B.A. in English from Indiana University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Kansas and further studied at the University of Southern California.
The love of piano was reflected in her teaching piano lessons, playing in church and as accompanist in High School Glee Club. Her prized possession was a lovely antique reed/pump organ. Another of Faye's continuing passions was "Sacred Harp Music" and she participated in an area singing group.
Following her years of teaching at the university level, Faye did writing and editing fro companies such as Capital Records, Carnation, and Cal Fed (one of the largest Savings and Loans in Southern CA) and she won two Southern California Business Communicators award for her work. She later founded her own business "Tison Lacy Associates".
Faye valued friendships, keeping up with them from high school and college to writers, editors, and neighbors throughout her life. A large number of people valued and loved her in turn. Most assuredly, Faye will be missed.
