Wild Things: Farm Bill update

The Senate may vote on a Farm Bill prior to its recess this Saturday, according to chairman Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa). But Harkin also said the current bill may have to be extended.

A welcome item in Harkin's platform is a requirement to cut federal support for those who plow up grassland. The House's Farm Bill has less stringent "sodsaver" provisions.
