Alma G. Marlow
Alma G. Marlow, age 75, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10:53 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill.
Alma was born on Dec. 13, 1937 in Fremont, Mo., a daughter to Louis and Gertrude (Payne) Greene. After graduating high school, she moved to Rockford, Ill. where met Sherman E. Marlow, whom she married on March 15, 1958 in Belvidere, Ill. They then moved to Tamaroa, Ill. and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1991. She was a homemaker and had worked at WalMart, Du Quoin, Ill. for over 10 years as well as serving as the secretary of Campbell Cemetery, Tamaroa, Ill. for many years. She was a member of the Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tami (Michael) Burkholder of Pickerington, Ohio and Tina Marlow of O'Fallon, Ill.; two brothers, Roy (Jeane) Greene of Freemont, Mo. and William (Jeane) Greene of Grafton, Wisc.; three sisters, Diane Hart of Doniphan, Mo., Doris Deroussell of Beaumont, Tex. and Josephine Reed of Oregon; four grandchildren, Kathryn, Kara, Brandon and Derek Burkholder; many nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends, including the Bishop and Blankenship families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Mark Cox officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Cemetery, Tamaroa, Ill.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
