Jailed jailer gets time served, probation

One of two jailers arrested for having sex with an inmate pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual misconduct. He has been given credit for time served and will remain on probation for five years.

James Gavett, 33, of Eldon, entered the guilty plea in Miller County Circuit Court on Tuesday. Under the terms of the sentencing, Gavett will also be required to register as a sex offender.
