Number of COVID-19 cases slows in Saline, Gallatin

ELDORADO - The number of cases in Saline, Gallatin and White counties has increased, though at a slower pace, according to information from Egyptian Health Department.

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Aug. 24 of two Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. The individuals include:

a female, in her 60s, at home and in isolation

<h3 class="breakHead">White County</h3>

a female, in her 20s, at home and in isolation

To date, Saline County has had a total of 155 lab-confirmed positives, including three deaths, White County has had a total of 113 lab-confirmed positives, and Gallatin County has a total of 61 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including two deaths.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department has been notified of 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the Franklin- Williamson county region within the past 24 hours. The individuals are being isolated. The newly confirmed cases by gender, county and age are as follows:

<h3 class="breakHead">Franklin</h3>

Females: One teenager, one in her 50s, and one in her 60s.

Males: One in his 60s.

<h3 class="breakHead">Williamson:</h3>

Females: One teenager, one in her 30s, one in her 40s, and one in her 60s,

Males: One in his 20s, one in his 50s, one in his 60s, and one in his 70s.

To date, there have been a total of 741 laboratory-confirmed positives in Williamson county and 292 laboratory-confirmed positives in Franklin county, including nine deaths in Williamson county and one death in Franklin county related to COVID-19. Of the positive cases, 414 have recovered in Williamson county and 179 have recovered in Franklin county.

Jackson County Health Department was notified in the past 24 hours of 10 Jackson County residents confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. The individuals are as follows:

Female - one teen, one in her 30s, two in their 40s and two in their 60s;

Male - one teen, one in his 20 and two in their sixties.

To date, there have been 858 confirmed cases in the county, including 20 related deaths. Seventeen

individuals were released from isolation, in accordance with CDC guidelines, bringing the total released

to 766 individuals. Seventy-two active cases are currently being managed.

Health departments state that as cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. Please maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
