OBITUARY: Donald L. Richey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Donald L. Richey, 82, of Bourbonnais, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Riverside Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1930, in Brushy Township, the son of Robert W. and Ina Lee Thompson Richey. He married Helen J. Gresiak on April 2, 1954. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2008.
Mr. Richey worked as a conductor for the railroad (NY Central, Penn Central and retired from Conrail). He is a veteran of the U.S. Army (CPL (T) Co. A. 382nd MP Sv Bn), serving during WW II. Donald is a lifetime member of the Aroma Park Legion Post 1019 and a lifetime member of the Kankakee VFW Post 2857. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and farming. He was the "head cook" at deer camp in Brushy Creek. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques. He was also a talented carpenter and mechanic.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Richey and Kenneth Richey; one daughter, Vicki L. Richey, six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley, Rosemary, Fern and Doris; and three brothers, Wayne, Dale and James.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his cat, "Stovepipe."
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. military service on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
