Come tell us how we can best serve you

Staff members from the Daily Register will be at Morello's Restaurant on Wednesday to meet with the public, get people's opinions of the newspaper and learn how they can better serve you.

Morello's Restaurant & Catering, 217 E. Poplar St., is making room for the meeting that runs from 3-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. It is a time for readers and the Daily Register team to get to know each other better and to find out what the public wants. Is it:

More local news -- What type of local news is most important?

More state and national news -- What do people want to see more of, such as politics with the state budget impasse and elections around the corner; business and enterprise stories; faith and religion; celebrity news; the list goes on?

More sports -- Local sports are a given, of course, but are the right sports being covered? How about college sports, such as SIU? Professional sports, Bears or Rams, Cardinals or Cubs, or coverage of all four?

More website -- What is the website missing? How can it improveAnd anything else you can think of that will help the Daily Register better inform, educate and engage its readers.

It's just not news and photos that make up the Daily Register. So staff members will be at Morello's starting at 3 p.m. Wednesday to discuss advertising, circulation and paper delivery and general business.

The staff is looking forward to meeting those reading, and even not reading, the Daily Register, especially those who want to offer ears full of critcism. So come on down.
