Bernice Nadine Bowers
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Bernice Nadine Bowers, 85, resident of Norris City, formerly of Eldorado, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Ferrell Hospital.
She was the widow of the Rev. Wayne Bowers.
Bernice was born in Eldorado on Dec. 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Herve and Florence (Whitsell) Cowan.
She was a member of Mt. Oval Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Bernice and her husband had a radio program, "The Voice of Calvary" for 35 years on WEBQ.
She was a homemaker.
Bernice is survived by a daughter, Bernadine (Earl B.) Shain of Norris City; a son, Wayne (Patricia) Bowers Jr. of Thompsonville; a sister, Wilma Barger of Eddyville; three grandchildren, Michael (Loretta) Shain, Georgia, Tiesha (John) Street, Corinth and Kyle Bowers, Harrisburg; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily Shain, Evan Shain, Anna Shain, Abby Shain, Gabe Shain, Lauren Shain and Cheyenne Street.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Rovert Cowan; and two sisters, Thelma Stephenson and Lucille McFarland.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Bud McDannel and the Rev. Mike Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Oval Cemetery in Norris City.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
