Missing Chihuahua in danger of dying without medicine

No questions asked, just return the dog, say the owners of a 4-pound Chihuahua that was taken from the Raynham Wendy's on Monday afternoon.

And hurry, they say.

"Lilo has seizures and needs medicine every day. If not, she's going to die," said dog owner Richard Maltais.

Lilo's last dose of medicine was Monday at 10 a.m., and Maltais estimates that convulsions may set in by 10 a.m. today. Once the convulsions begin, Maltais said Lilo will die without medical attention.

His wife, Tina Maltais, has been inconsolable since the black and tan Lilo, who is 5 years old, disappeared, said Richard.

Richard Maltais said he believes Lilo jumped out the door when his wife stopped at Wendy's at 4:30 p.m.

Lilo's escape wasn't noticed until Tina got back to Middleboro because the dog usually sleeps under the seat, he said.

According to patrons at Wendy's, Lilo was caught by a young couple.

"The people that took the dog mentioned inside the restaurant they were taking her to the pound," said Maltais.
