Prep Golf:

The Harrisburg duo of Alexa Burtis and Skylar Street grabbed a couple of individual spots for next week's IHSA Sectional at Carterville's Crab Orchard Golf Club.

Burtis turned in an 87, while Street shot a 99, andCarterville's Avery Rea took medalist honors with a 79.

Massac County captured the team title of the competition, while Herrin was second and Carterville took third.

Artman advances to

Carterville Sectional

Eldorado senior Jacqlyn Artman worked her way around Mt. Carmel with a 47 on the front and finished with a 50 on the back to fire a 97 and grab an individual spot at next week's IHSA Sectional held at Crab Orchard Golf Course in Carterville.

As a team, the Eagles finished fifth with a 417 as Derian Corn and Ashley Sizemore each shot a pair of 106's. Keeley Tate and Kileah Lowery each had a pair of 108's and Olivia Parker finished with a 131.

EHS head coach Greg Goodley complimented Artman on her accomplishment and said she worked hard Wednesday and kept her round together to give herself a spot in the 10 low individuals.

"All of the girls worked very hard this year and improved their game throughout the season. As a coach, you couldn't ask for me, so I was very proud of all of them.

At the Sectional, Street will tee off at 9:33 a.m., while Artman tees off at 9:42 and Burtis goes off at 10:18 a.m.
