Canterbury's subdivision moratorium lapses

The yearlong moratorium on subdivisions of more than three lots lapsed last week as the town's Planning and Zoning Commission could not reach a quorum to extend the deadline.

The moratorium expired Aug. 1 and was originally in place so the commission could iron out inconsistencies and update its subdivision and zoning regulations, said alternate member Walter Moriarty, who often votes at meetings.
