Obituary: Cletus R. McGhee

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cletus R. McGhee, 65, of Old Shawneetown died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at his home.

Cletus was born in Old Shawneetown on Sept. 8, 1946, to the late Fred and Aline (Barger) McGhee. Cletus had worked as a general laborer most of his life. He was an Old Shawneetown fireman for 32 years. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was always smiling and had a story or two for you. His real love was his grandchildren whom he loved so dearly. Cletus was a good dad, grandfather and friend and will be missed.

Cletus is survived by two sons, Mark (Sheila) McGhee of Shawneetown and Clete McGhee of Chester; one daughter, Frances "Loody" (Randy) Lane of Shawneetown; his companion, Ruby Tipton of Old Shawneetown; one brother, John McGhee of Chester; three grandsons, Schuyler and Sawyer McGhee of Shawneetown and Austin McGhee of Chester; two granddaughters, Kira McGhee of Chester and Rachel McGhee of Clinton; and one great-grandchild, McKenna Ballinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sharon McGhee.

Visitation for Cletus will be from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown, a graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
