Freda Mings Baird

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Freda Mings Baird, 89, Richmond, Ky., passed away on Sept. 21, 2008, while residing at Telford Terrace, Richmond, Ky.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1919, near Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Roy and Dora Cotter Mings. She was a retired deputy clerk of the Madison Circuit Court.

Freda was active in the Richmond community as a longstanding member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Freda married the late C.R. Baird of Richmond, Ky., in San Francisco, Calif., during World War II while working to support the war effort. Upon his release as a prisoner of war, Freda and C.R. settled back in Kentucky and began their family.

Freda is survived by two sons, David R. (Connie) Baird, a local attorney and master commissioner and Cloyde Randall (Donna) Baird, police academy instructor, both of Richmond; two grandchildren, Sarah Conley Baird and Christina Baird (Chris) Young, both of Richmond, Ky.; one great-grandchild, Olivia Grace Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Telford Terrace for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Madison County Salvation Army.
