Obituary: James Bristow

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Bristow, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Harrisburg, the son of Sam and Effie Dunn Bristow. He worked at Pankey's Bakery before working at a canning factory near Wood River. He was an Army veteran, a member of the River Of Life U.P.C. Church. He was never married.

He is survived by one brother, Lester Bristow of Massillon, Ohio; and two sisters, Mona Leach of Marion and Barbara Long of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Melvin and Robert Bristow; and four sisters, Margaret Crabb, Eva Coseboon, LaVern Edmundson and Chestine Smith.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion and VFW. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.
