More casinos in Connecticut's future?

Allowing additional casinos in Connecticut may be the answer to staving off projected drops in slot machine revenue should Massachusetts' proposed casinos open, according to a University of Connecticut professor emeritus of economics.

"You shouldn't just rule out opening the compact," Arthur Wright said during a Tuesday morning at a meeting debuting the winter 2008 issue of The Connecticut Economy journal focusing on the state's casino impact.

The idea got a lukewarm reception from Bruce "Two Dogs" Bozsum.

"That would take a lot of work," he said, "and everybody at the table. That would probably be a very important discussion."
