Mary Louise Travelstead

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Louise Travelstead, 98, Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Galatia, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home following an illness of several years.

Mary was born on Nov. 2, 1911, in Harrisburg to the late Benjamin and Maude (Stiff) James. She married Sam Travelstead on Nov. 18, 1932, and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Schutt and husband Jack; two grandchildren, David Schutt and Lisa Garffie; stepdaughter, Diane Immell; stepgrandson, John Furlong; two great-grandchildren; and eight great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard N. Travelstead; stepdaughter, Wanda Furlong; infant grandson; and brother, Homer James of Eldorado.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Roger Lipe will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
