J.R. Clay
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[J.R. Clay, 30, of Effingham and a former resident of Johnston City died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, in Effingham as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
J.R. was born Feb. 2, 1980, in Carbondale to Terra (Hunt) and Richard Lee Clay Sr.
J.R was a truck driver for Holle Trucking in Effingham. He was a member of the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being a cowboy. He also enjoyed spending time with his son, Justin and his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his son, Justin Clay and his mother, Dawn Mallory of Johnston City; parents, Richard and Angie Clay of Herrin and Terra and Gary Farris of Goreville; four sisters, Amanda Holle and special friend Dallas Pritchett of Harrisburg; Tiffany Jackson and husband Scott of Paducah, Ky., Nikkie Brogan of Goreville, Gena Reynolds and husband Justin of Stonefort; three brothers, Matt Holle of Effingham, Lee Fisher of Herrin, Jimmy Pearsley of Herrin; grandparents, Melvin and Frances Miller of Ozark, Elanor Farris of Goreville, Gene and Loretta Rentfro of Energy; several aunts and uncles; and eight nieces and nephews, Dakota VanCleve of Paducah, Ky., Chase Clay of Harrisburg, Weston VanCleve, Caden Hopkins of Okemah, Okla., Chelbie Reynolds of Stonefort, Cyleigh Holle of Effingham, Jaycee Pritchett of Harrisburg, and Scotty Reynolds of Stonefort.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven T. Clay; grandparents, Jerry and Betty Clay and Ted Farris; an uncle, Bobby Clay; and a cousin, Heather Childers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Lee Petty officiating. Interment will follow in Herrin City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the funeral home.
